Update Your Payment Method

Last updated: 2026-01-15

Overview

Maintaining a valid and up-to-date payment method on your Arkante account ensures seamless purchases and uninterrupted access to paid services. If your payment method expires, is declined, or needs to be replaced, you can manage it directly from your account settings.

This guide covers how to add new payment methods, set a default, and remove methods you no longer wish to use.

Supported Payment Methods

Arkante uses Stripe as its payment processor. The payment methods available to you depend on your billing country and the currency of your purchase. The following categories are supported:

Saveable methods

These methods can be saved to your account for future purchases:

  • Credit and debit cards — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Cartes Bancaires, and other major card networks supported in your region.
  • Apple Pay — Available on supported Apple devices and browsers.
  • Google Pay — Available on supported Android devices and browsers.
  • Samsung Pay — Available on supported Samsung devices and browsers.
  • PayPal — Pay with your PayPal account.
  • Amazon Pay — Pay with your Amazon account.
  • Revolut Pay — Pay with your Revolut account.
  • Link — Fast checkout with Link by Stripe.

One-time methods

These methods can be used during checkout but cannot be saved for later use:

  • Klarna — Buy now, pay later.
  • Bancontact — Belgium (EUR only).
  • EPS — Austria (EUR only).
  • Paysafecard — Prepaid code.
  • BLIK — Poland (PLN only).
  • Kakao Pay, Naver Pay, PAYCO — South Korea (KRW only).

Note: Some methods require a redirect to an external provider (e.g., PayPal, Klarna, Bancontact). You will be returned to Arkante automatically after completing the authorization.

All payment information is encrypted and processed through Stripe’s PCI DSS-compliant infrastructure. Arkante does not store your full card number on its servers.

Adding a New Payment Method

To add a saveable payment method to your account:

  1. Sign in to your Arkante account at auth.arkante.com. You will be redirected to your portal at my.arkante.com.
  2. Click Settings in the sidebar, then select the Billing tab.
  3. In the Payment Methods section, click Add Method.
  4. Select your preferred payment type and enter the required details.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Once added, the payment method appears in the Payment Methods section and can be used for future purchases.

Setting a Default Payment Method

Your default payment method is used automatically for new purchases and subscription renewals. To change which method is the default:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Billing.
  2. In the Payment Methods section, locate the method you want to use as your default.
  3. Click Set Default next to the method.

The current default is indicated by a DEFAULT badge.

Removing a Payment Method

To remove a payment method from your account:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Billing.
  2. In the Payment Methods section, click Remove next to the method you wish to delete.

Note: If your card has been renewed or your payment details have changed, remove the outdated method and add a new one.

Troubleshooting

If you experience issues while managing your payment methods, consider the following:

  • Card declined during addition: Ensure the card details are entered correctly, including the billing address. Some banks may block online transactions by default — contact your card issuer to authorize the payment.
  • Payment method not appearing after save: Refresh the page and verify the method was saved. If the issue persists, try using a different browser or clearing your cache.
  • Duplicate payment methods: If the same card appears multiple times, remove the duplicate entries and re-add the method once.
  • A payment method you expected is not available: The available methods depend on your billing country and the currency of the purchase. Not all methods are available in all regions.
